My Account

An Avenza Maps account is free. It has several benefits including the ability to:

  • browse previous purchases from the Avenza Maps account
  • easily retrieve previously purchased maps
  • transfer purchased maps to other devices
  • purchase maps more quickly
  • allow our support team to assist you faster

 
You will be prompted to create an account when you attempt to purchase a map. An account is not required to download free maps. However, it's recommended that you create an account due to the benefits listed above.

Register or login

To register for an account or to log in to your account, tap the My Account icon.  For Android and iOS users, this icon can be found by tapping Map Store (shopping cart icon) > Account (head/bust icon).  Android users who have upgraded to Avenza Maps 3.2, will also see an account icon from the main maps list (head/bust icon). You will be prompted to enter your username and password in order to login.

If you need to register for a new account, please select the "Register" link and complete the form provided.  Once the form is filled out and submitted, you will be emailed an activation link.  This link must be used to activate your account.  If you do not receive this email or have any problems, please contact us using our support form and we will be happy to help!

A common error that our users encounter is a registration failed error.  Most of the time, this error occurs because the user is trying to create an account with an email address that is already linked with an account.  If this happens when you are trying to register for an account, try using the Reset password option instead to see if you do indeed have an account already. 



Forgot your password?

If you have forgotten your password and need to reset it, you can do this yourself through the Account page.  On both Android and iOS devices, please go to the login screen (Map Store > Account), and tap the "Forgot password" link.  Please enter your email address that is associated with your account and tap submit.  You will then be emailed a link to reset your password. If you do not receive this email, please ensure you check your spam filter, as well as double check that you are using the correct email address that is linked to an account (emails will not be sent if there is no account on file for that email address).  If you are still having any problems, please feel free to contact our support team for further assistance.  
 
Access previously downloaded maps

To access previously downloaded maps (both purchased and free), you will need to log into your Map Store account.  To login, please go to the Map Store (shopping cart icon), followed by Account (head/bust icon). Android users on version 3.2, will also be able to access their account from the main Maps List. Once logged in a list of your previously downloaded maps will be available for you to select and re-download from. Use this method to access your maps from a different device. Up to five devices with your account are allowed to share maps simultaneously.

If you made purchases while not logged in with an Avenza Maps account (this is possible on iOS devices which do not enforce the account, as well as Android devices who had the app prior to 2016), and therefore do not see your maps on a new device, you will need to contact our support team with some information so that we can add the maps to your account for you.  The information required is as follows:
 

  1. Your Map Store account email (if you don't already have one, you will need to create one for us to add the maps to)
  2. If the original device that purchased the maps is available (and is an iOS device), the Local Purchase History from the app.  To get this, please open the app and go to Settings > General Settings > Debug Settings > Map Store Settings > Local Purchase History
  3. If you do not have access to the original device, or if you are using an Android device, you will need to send a copy of the purchase receipts (either from iTunes or Google Play), as well as the title(s) of the map(s) purchased (the receipts do not give us the map titles unfortunately


Once we verify this information, we will add the maps to your Map Store account, and you can enjoy them again on up to 5 devices. 



 
To download a map again, tap a map and then tap INSTALL on the map description screen. The map will automatically begin to download.


 
Logout
To logout of your account, tap the My Account icon, then tap Logout.
