General Settings provides various options to users to customize their map viewing experience. The options available are:
Allow Usage Reporting
Anonymous reports are sent to the Avenza Maps team to improve app usage.
Keep Screen On
When enabled, the system system will not turn off the screen while viewing a map.
Always Use High Resolution
When enabled, any maps that are imported will be rendered in high resolution. This can impact import times.
Use Metric Units
When enabled, the app will use metres and kilometres to measure distances.
Use Google Maps
Default setting that allows you to use Google Maps for viewing locations of placemarks (requires Google Maps to be installed). If this is disabled, or Google Maps is not installed, the default map app will be used.
Disable Placemark Aggregation
When enabled, placemark symbols that are close to one another will not be combined in the map view. If this. If this option is not enabled, placemarks that are close together will be grouped together when zoomed further out in order to improve processing and display quality.
This option allows you to choose the color of the crosshair in the map viewer.
This option allows the user to change the visibility of the scale bar while viewing a map. The options available are: always shown, always hidden, or default (scale bar is shown only when changing the zoom level on the map)
GPS Settings (v3.1 and higher)
This takes the user to the GPS settings page, where they can further customize their GPS tracking requirements. Please see the GPS Settings link below.
Clear Search History
Clear all values from the history sections in search.
Provides additional options for troubleshooting, as well as Map Store settings
